2 Introduction

The surge protection adds some load on the signal lines, so the maximum bitrates are reduced

compared to the 200I card.

Besides the consequences of optical isolation and added surge protection, the VScom 200I-SI UPCI

card is conﬁgured and used in much the same way as the 200I card (2.2.3). The 200I-SI does not

have DTR, DSR, DCD and RI signals.

The operation mode is conﬁgured via the small DIP switches according to table 9. Also resistors

for Termination and BIAS option are built-in, conﬁgured by a block of jumpers as of table 10.

There is a jumper for compatibility mode, this is used to conﬁgure the maximum bitrate of the

serial ports.
